The Moon in Gaza

“The moon for me is always a partner in contemplation because it gives me hope and is a beacon of  beauty amidst the agony.”

I wrote this poem when I was sitting at the beach so the words come not only from looking to the moon but also from looking out into the sea. The sea of Gaza isn’t like any other sea on earth, there is something different and unique here - despite the destruction and devastation from everything that is going on. The moon for me is always a partner in contemplation because it gives me hope and is a beacon of beauty amidst the agony - one day, for sure, things will be better.
